Braids don’t come with a better reputation than Tuf Line XP which is now distributed in the UK by Snowbee. Des Westmore offers his first impressions.
Snowbee has agreed a deal with Western Filaments to become UK distributor for the highly regarded Tuf Line XP braid. I have come across this brand in the States where it has an excellent reputation for both performance and durability. I have a test reel spooled and ready to go, and I’ll report my personal experience and more detailed findings on PSF soon.
First impressions bode well however, and XP will be attractive to both shore and boat anglers. The braid is certainly thin by breaking strain comparison to other leading brands, and it displays a very round profile in cross section. Tuf Line XP comes in green, yellow and red as well as in a multi-coloured ‘Depth Counter’ version that pollack anglers and others will warm to.
Available on 150 yard and 300 yard spools from 16lb through to a mighty 206lb breaking strain. Prices vary across the range with a typical 300 yard spool of 27lb coming in at £35.99, which is in line with similar quantities of most quality brands. Find out more at www.snowbee.co.uk
