The SAMF Daiwa Irish Pairs event is now into its 32nd year and in 2013, it will take place from Saturday 21st September through to Thursday 26th.
This year will see a fantastic prize table of Daiwa tackle prizes to the value of £10,000, which ensures a spread of prizes for the competitors. The event will be capped at 72 pairs, and will see a minimum £1,500 cash prize plus Pools for the Winners.
The competition will once again take place on the picturesque Dingle Peninsula in Country Kerry. The fishing is varied with estuary, rock and surf angling in close proximity to one another. The rocks can produce good quality pollack, wrasse and conger, while the beaches can produce bass, flounders and rays, with the estuaries producing some clonking flounders. SAMF adopts a conservation approach to this angling event and the three pegged matches are fished on a measure and return basis. Similarly, the Specimen Hunt is also operated on a measure only basis.
There will be pegged matches on the Saturday, Monday and Wednesday with Specimen Hunts filling the remainder of the days. Full details of the event can be found on the Irish Pairs website and an entry form and brochure can be downloaded here.
