When it comes to lure development the Redgill company cannot be accused of standing still. Brand new weighted, scented and rattling shad and twintail lures are the latest introductions to this blossoming range of modern fishing lures.
The latest Redgill lures have received a clear thumbs-up after the latest bout of ‘wet’ testing’out of Dartmouth. Redgill staff man Alex Macdonald and friends enjoyed frantic action with double figure cod, pollack and ling over the wrecks. All fish were caught close to the bottom on short hopper rigs with a 40lb hooklength from a tube boom with 10oz weight. Alex used 40lb braid main line to a clear 50lb Sakuma leader.
Twin Turbos are an internally ballasted twin-tailed lure cod with a magical fluttering action that catch plenty of pollack too. They are impregnated with the new aniseed ‘Factor A’ strike stimulant and feature an internal rattle and 6/0 Mustad hook. Measuring 140mm/5 1/2 inches long, Twin Turbos weigh 38g and are priced at £5.99 for a pack of two. Check out the picture gallery at the bottom of the page to see more of the new Redgill lures.
Redgill Mega Vibes are likewise a specially scented, weighted shad-type lure available in a superb array of fish-catching colours. With deeply grooved sides, ribbed paddle tail, holographic eyes, internal rattle and razor-sharp Mustad 6/0 32786 hooks, these are lures that have been properly considered and designed. Mega Vibes are only available in 150mm and weigh 45g. They cost £6.50 for two and they will be available in the next couple of weeks.
Mega Vibes and the Twin Turbo lures are made from the same hardwearing ‘ST’ material as the popular Redgill EVOs, which resists ripping from teeth and doesn’t fall apart in a hurry. Available through Redgill stockists. The full lure ranges can be seen here.
