Kettering’s Jim Robinson ran out easy winner of the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match, held at North Shore Road. Fishing behind the golf course, he caught five flounders, a dab and a rockling measuring 199cm, to win the Gordon Long Cup. To make a good day complete, Jim also won the heaviest flatfish and round fish prizes, with a 36cm flounder and a 25cm rockling respectively. Top lady angler Helen Bradley continued her current good run of form by taking second place with a pair of flounders for 62cm. Framing again in third was Wrangle’s Alan Steadman, who caught a dab and a flounder measuring 48cm.
The next SPAC match will be held on Saturday 15th Mar from 3 till 7pm at Jacksons Corner, with Club members fishing for the Ex-Servicemens Cup.
