Poor catches continued in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match, held in ideal conditions at Bohemia Point, Sutton on Sea. The match was a struggle from start to finish, with blank avoidance being the order of the day! Croxton’s Dave Burr showed once again why he is such a force to be reckoned with, winning the Coleman Cup with a small dab and two whiting for a meagre 15½oz. He also won the heaviest round fish award with his best whiting, which tipped the scales at 11oz. Close behind in second place was top local lady angler Helen Bradley, who came really close to winning her first SPAC match with a nice 15oz flounder, which was also easy winner of the heaviest flatfish prize. Kettering’s Jim Robinson framed again in third place, catching a double shot of small dabs late on for 8oz.
The SPAC AGM will be held on Saturday 23rd February commencing at 7:30pm in the New Park Club, Scarborough Avenue, Skegness. All current and prospective members are invited to attend. Any resolutions in writing to the Secretary at least a week in advance please. The annual Trophy Presentation and social event will take place immediately after the AGM, including a grand raffle and buffet.
The next SPAC match will be held on Saturday 15th Feb from 4 till 8pm at Chapel Point, with Club members fishing for the Healey Cup. There is also an open section, which non-members are welcome to participate in. For further information please contact SPAC Secretary Chas Tibble on 07984 967988 or chastibble@hotmail.com
