Visiting anglers lifted all the prizes again in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (S.P.A.C.) match held at North Shore Road. Top Grimsby match angler Garry Hutson was in scintillating form, taking first place with 13 fat flounders for a total weight of 12lb 14oz. Some way behind in runners-up spot was his travelling companion Karl Nangle, whose 7 flatfish tipped the scales at 7lb 8oz. Karl also won the heaviest flatfish prize with a specimen 1lb 10oz flounder. Croxton’s Dave Burr was also in amongst the flatties, finishing in third place with 8 flounders for 7lb 5oz. Adrian Crane made his journey up from Holbeach worthwhile, taking the heaviest round fish award with a nice 2lb 9oz bass.

Club members are participating in an inaugural SPAC knockout competition this year, run in conjunction with the match programme. Skegness local Dave Bradley was the second angler to progress to the second round, catching a decent 1lb 2oz flounder to easily beat Barry Roper’s tiny 2¾oz flounder.

The next SPAC event is an Inter-Club match versus the Humber Sea Angling Club and will be held on Sunday 8th May from 7:30 till 11:30am at Trunch Lane. This match is for Club members only, who will also be fishing for the Frank Parkin’s Shield.
