Norfolk News – Old High 28-03-2016

18 anglers arrived to enjoy a lovely sunny evening. After the walk across the golf course the pegging was carried to the left and right so no one had too long a walk. The sea had a good swell on it and was a lovely chocolate colour so we were hopeful for a fish or two.

To start with it was hard to get any fish out in the daylight but the odd ones were landed before the darkness set in. Once it was dark, the usual pin whiting were active and so were the crabs. This week it was all about the dogfish; if you landed one, you had a podium spot.

There were three in total caught and all on adjacent pegs. In third place on peg 5 with two fish for 1lb 14oz was Gary Moore. Runner-up, for the second week in a row was Dave Aldridge with four fish for 2lb 51/3oz which included a brill, a fish that is becoming more common around there.

Taking top spot this week was Simon Bone with five fish weighing 3lb. Next week’s match is at Mundesley. Meet at the car park by the arcades and book in on Facebook or via the shop.
