All Sussex Shore Championships 2014

Angling Trust Sussex Marine Region have announced a new shore Championships for Sussex Beach Anglers. The Angling Trust in Sussex has announced a new beach competition for Sussex sea anglers. The 2014 All Sussex Shore Championships starts in March and consists of 5 beach based heats held over through the year and culminating in a Grand Final on Sunday 12th October.

The first heat will take place in Pevensey on Sunday March 30th followed by matches at Seaford, Brighton, Pagham and Shoreham’s Widewater beach. Entry is £15 and all the entry money goes towards prizes. Each heat will have a maximum of 60 anglers – making the potential prize pool £900 – and will be divided into three sections, the top five from each qualifying for the final. Section winners will also win a cash prize.

The winner of the final will be crowned the Angling Trust All Sussex Shore Champion – more details of sponsorship will be announced shortly.

The organiser of the first heat, Glynn Morgan from the Anglers Den Tackle Shop says of the competition “This will be a great way of bringing Sussex anglers together to fish an annual tournament. It is great news that the Angling Trust is getting involved in the Sussex competition scene and we’re expecting some great matches”. Other match organisers include Steve Arnold, (Seaford) Tony Geal (Shoreham) and Paul Robinson (Pagham).

The heats are open to all anglers regardless of whether they are members of the Angling Trust however all anglers who qualify will need to be Angling Trust members.
