Skegness Pier Angling Club – Smith Cup 2016

Good catches continued in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match held on Saturday evening from Trunch Lane.

With half an hour to go, Grimsby ace Adie Cooper was in the lead with 16 dabs and whiting for a length of 434cm, with his travelling companion Dan Jackson in second place with 15 fish on 400cm. From then on there was no stopping Dan, who pulled in three big triple shots to run out easy winner of the A Smith Cup with 24 fish measuring 627cm.

Adie had to settle for second place with 19 fish for 529cm, with Rick Jarvis in third place with 12 fish for a total length of 336cm. Top caster Kev Bebbington picked up some quality fish at peak distance, winning both longest round and flatfish cash with a 43cm whiting and 32cm flounder respectively.

The next SPAC match is the annual Xmas Fayre next Sunday, from 1:30 till 5:30pm at Jacksons Corner. HQ is The Lookout Pub, where food will be laid on, there will be a prize for every angler and a raffle. The match is open to all and £10 entry.
