A week of unsettled weather affected catches in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match held at Drake Road, with most anglers struggling to catch anything at all. Corby’s Paul Marshall continued his recent run of good form, running out easy winner with 2 flounders and a silver eel for a total weight of 2lb 8oz. Paul also won the heaviest flatfish award with his best flounder, which tipped the scales at 1lb 1oz. There was a three-way tie for second place between Wrangle’s Paul Cridland, Kettering’s Bob Foster and Corby’s Dale Evans, each with a single 11oz silver eel. Croxton’s Dave Burr took the heaviest round fish award, with a tiny ½oz (11cm) weever.

The next SPAC match will be held on Sunday 25th Sep from 3 till 7pm at Drake Road, with Club members fishing for the Shipstone Cup. There is also an open section, which non-members are welcome to participate in. For further information please contact SPAC Secretary Chas Tibble on 07984 967988 or chastibble@hotmail.com
