Cod Scarce On The Lancashire Coast

by Jordan Russell

lancashire latest news logoA bit of a change in weather this week that’s for sure, with the size of the tides and a strong south westerly wind it has made most days unfishable!

Most people have fished around the corner at Fleetwood as it provides a measure of shelter from the weather. Unfortunately mainly whiting, dabs, rays and few eels, no cod.

But there are still some good size bass being caught so it’s likely that this month is just to mild For the cod.

The conditions are perfect but just not many cod about at all. I’m sure they will soon make an appearance though. Fresh ragworm picking out the bigger fish again with black lugworm close behind.
