Poor weather has meant that there has not been a lot of action reported in the Lancashire area. However, seven year old Amy Nicholson landed a lovely sole while fishing on the Gynn Wall. The sole took ragworm on Amy’s flattie rig fished on her Ugly Stick rod.
Fleetwood and District Angling Clubs fished a match last Sunday at Stanah. Using only worm or fish bait the eight anglers enjoyed decent sport despite the bass not showing. A good number of eels were taken together with flounders.
Top bait seemed to be black lugworm probably because it is tougher than blow lug or rag and withstands the attacks by crabs longer.
