by Jordan Russell

The fishing in the Lancashire area has slowed down a lot on the beaches recently due to easterly winds and the fact that the summer species have not arrived in force.

Brooke Jones Cook from Leyland, aged just eight was delighted to land a flattie on her first time ever sea fishing.

Fleetwood and District Angling Club fished a match last Sunday. After a week of easterly winds expectations were not high for the entrants. On the early casts a few small plaice were caught, after that the whiting showed until the light faded.
