Lancashire Bass Sport

by Jordan Russell

Lancashire sea fishing has been very up and down the past week with the still and warm weather. We really do need some wind now to bring the first run of codling in to the bay.

Low water fishing on the other hand has been nothing less than amazing around the Clevelyes area for smoothhounds, thornback ray and bass. Rag worm and fish baits accounting for most of the bites.

The day time fishing hasn’t been the best with flat seas and bright sunshine the fish have stayed out in deeper water. Night time is definitely worth a go though.

Matthew Hogkinson had a not to shabby day on the Gynn Wall. First cast produced a nice bass thanks to the boys at Bispham Angling first the top quality bait as usual.

Mark Yule reports that the boat bass fishing has been fantastic recently with members taking advantage of the bank holiday weather. They must be so lucky to have some of the best bass fishing in the country on our doorstep.
