Ten anglers turned out for the last match of 2019 at Sheringham where the competitors enjoyed some excellent fishing in pleasant conditions.. A wise decision was made to walk along past the life boat station and fish on the shingle bank.
With high tide being at 9pm it was all set to be a good night with a slight wind but generally flat calm conditions.
We were not disappointed with 119 sizeable fish carded for a total weight of just over 46lb. Top rod on the night with 17 fish for 6lb 141/3oz was Ian Childerhouse followed in second place by Nathan Drewery also with 17 fish and pipped by 2 1/3oz, with 6lb 12oz. The final podium spot went to Ian Wells with 15 fish for 5lb 10 2/3oz.
Heaviest roundfish went to Ian Childerhouse with a lovely 36cm whiting and heaviest flatfish was John Catchpole’s 28cm flounder.
All in all a very busy night for all lets hope it continues for the next match at Waxham which will another first time venue.
Happy new year to everyone.
