14 anglers turned up for tonight’s match at Cart Gap. A lovely evening with a stunning sunset, perfect conditions or so we all thought. Hounds, dogs and bass were the target species, but sadly no one had informed the fish of our arrival, and it was a struggle over low water.
The fish started to feed on the flood but many were undersized dabs and flounders. Only five people managed to card sizeable fish. Taking top spot for the second week in a row was Paul Thorburn, managing to sneak out a dab and a flounder for 121/3oz. Close behind Paul also with a dab and a flounder was Keith Shaul with 12oz Third 3rd place was shared between Dene Conway, Leon Smith and guest angler Dave Burr all with one sizeable dab for 42/3oz.
A very tough match for all and with that in mind next weeks match due to be at Caister has been changed to Kelling to try and take advantage of the shingle and how well it has been fishing the last few weeks.
No round fish were caught but heaviest flatfish went to Keith Shaul with a flounder at 28cm.
