Croxton’s Dave Burr continued his winning ways in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match held at Jacksons Corner. He is unstoppable at the moment, winning his second match on the trot and adding the Frank Parkins shield to his increasing hoard of silverware. He was the only angler to register more than one fish, catching two bass and two flounders weighing in at 3lb 9oz. He also won both heaviest round and flatfish prizes, with a 1lb 5oz bass and 1lb 3oz flounder respectively. Some way behind in second place was another in-form angler, Skegness local Dave Bradley, whose single silver eel tipped the scales at 11oz. Kettering’s Bob Foster framed again in third place with a 6oz dab. The only other person to catch a fish was Helen Bradley, who caught an un-seasonal 4½oz whiting to take fourth place.
The next SPAC event is an Inter-Club match versus Humber Sea Angling Club, which will be held on Sunday 2nd Jun from 11am till 3pm at Wolla Bank. This will be a pegged match for members only, who will be fishing for the Inter-Club shield and the Dodsworth Cup. A good turnout of SPAC members would be much appreciated.
