Roger Finds The Eels At Heacham

by Simon Bottomley

After a week of weed, no weed we finally decided to man up and fish Heacham. Despite extensive checks and use of local knowledge it was still a tough night.

The rain on the way to the venue set the scene with the heavens opening, but there was hope with blue sky making an appearance. Maybe the match would generate a few fish?

Heacham beachIt did, a total of eight fish (seven of which were eels) between the 17 anglers fishing. Welcome to Nathan Boughan and Charlie Needham for joining the match.

Roger Cunnington showed how to do it with a magnificent two eels to give a total of 90 weight points. With Kev Green coming in second also with two slighhtly smaller eels. Jamie picked up third place with his 36cm Bass. Luke was fourth with Eric and John Spalton picking up a shared fifth place.

the resultsHopefully, Gt Yarmouth (South Beach) – planned for next week will see a few more fish making an appearance. Again local knowledge will be used to assess the match venue so keep an eye on WhatsApp for any last minute changes.

Well done all, the night summed up in two words “Weed”, “Weed”, congratulations to all who fished and caught.
