Once again the weather has restricted the numbers of anglers out and about on the Lancashire coast. Fingers crossed the coming week brings about an improvement.
Fleetwood and District Angling Club members did manage to fish their latest club match last Sunday on Marine Beach. it was a bit blustery when they started and a touch rough, but as the tide got nearer to high water it calmed off a lot.
Weed was a problem for the first forty-five minutes before conditions became quite manageable.
Twenty-four anglers fished and sixteen managed to catch fish. The match was for the single biggest flatfish.
Quite a few flounder were landed but there was a shortage of the anticipated plaice. There were also the odd dab and non-qualifying whiting and rockling caught. A multitude of baits caught fish today with crab, black lug, rag and razor all producing fish.
