14 anglers graced the shores at Overstrand, pegging was to the left of the zig zag groyne. A lovely summer’s evening to be on the beach, if the fish were there it would be a bonus.
Some of us had the BBC on our phones watching the England match so it was a pretty laid back affair. Since the storms earlier in the year you could see the damage caused down here with lots more rocky areas exposed resulting in several losing gear during the course of the match.
Out of 14 anglers only six managed to find sizeable fish to card. Top of the pile and his first podium finish was John Catchpole with three fish for 1lb 131/3oz, well done John. Second podium spot went to Leon Smith with two fish for 1lb 62/3oz. Third place went to Eamon Finch with one fish for 152/3oz.
Welcome back to Martin Wheeldon and a warm welcome to local lad Dean Roper who also managed to card on his first match.
Next weeks match is the final one of the season, lets hope for a good turnout at Kelling.
Please get your bait orders in before Saturday.
