Fish were hard to come by in the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match held from Winthorpe Avenue. Seven anglers managed to catch a single flatfish each, with Kettering’s Bob Foster catching a fine 1lb specimen, to take first place and the heaviest flatfish prize. Ending a disastrous run of poor results, Skegness local Dave Bradley came in second with an 8oz dab and also took the heaviest round fish award by default. There was a tie for third place, with both Mablethorpe’s Kevin Bebbington and Wrangle’s Alan Steadman weighing in 6oz flounders.

Next SPAC match will be held on Sunday 27th February from 11:30am – 15:30pm at North Shore Road, with members fishing for the Gordon Long Cup. There is also an open section, which non-SPAC members are welcome to participate in. Contact Club Secretary Chas Tibble on 07984 967988 or chastibble@hotmail.com for further details.

The club held their annual presentation of prizes after the match and a full set of the results can be downloaded here.
