A great trip afloat with the enthusiastic youngsters from Stornoway SAC. The guys from Planet Sea Fishing and the senior club members were all impressed with the attitude and commitment of the kids.

Play about with the wee fish. Unfortunately the bigger fish missed out on the video as I was trying to catch them instead of running the camera. Spurs into double figures, cod, ling, haddock made up the bulk of the catches.

Fishing in Shetland is something special. A couple of mates and I went up for a Kayaking trip but were lucky enough to get taken out on a Commercial Boat to get amongst some of the monster fish.

June 3rd, 2011: glorious weather, great fishing out from Dunbar with angler/ skipper Trevor Springford. Apologies for the odd splash of water on the camera lens, but the action was pretty exciting.

The halibut weighed 58.5 lbs, not 62 lbs as in Julian Strange’s script. And the bait was a whole squid, not a cuttlefish!

The first common skate ever landed on rod and line in the Orkney Islands. Les Moncrieff landed three and I matched that.
