Steve fishing for skate out of Oban

Scottish international boat angler Steve Souter joins his good friend Davy Holt for a days giant skate fishing. They are on board the Laura Dawn skippered by Ronnie Campbell. According to Steve, Davy is the best skate angler in the UK and Ronnie is the best charter boat skipper around so how can he go wrong? The answer is he can’t and they don’t. Giant skate are real monsters of the deep and it isn’t easy to land them once hooked. Try to imagine pulling 200lbs through 500 feet of water. That’s what Steve and Davy have to do. It can be back breaking stuff but very rewarding.
