King ragworm – The name given to a large specimen of Polychaete ragworm which can be 15mm thick and 450mm long. It has strong, sharp pincers.
Keeper ring – A small ring just above the rod handle to retain the hook when not in use.
Landing net – A bag shaped net attached round a metal frame which in turn is joined to a wood, metal or glass-fibre handle and used to land fish.
Lateral Line – A sensory organ running along the side of a fish which detects vibrations.
