TronixPro Rig Winder Case Reviewed

by David Proudfoot

TonixFishing are constantly casting their eye over the angling tackle market looking of items which will benefit the angler. Here we look at the TronixPro Rig Winder Case after a season’s use.

When the popular Ian Golds’ rig cases disappeared from the sea angling scene TronixFishing were quick to fill the gap with the tidy EVA Tronixpro rig winder case.

The Tronixpro rig winder case

The case is produced from a wipe clean, black fabric, and although the design is not totally waterproof it is easy to maintain in prime, fresh condition. The material is hardwearing with a superb resistance to wear and tear when stored in a tackle box.

Well Manufactured

The stitching is neat and well finished and after a year’s use shows no sign of fraying. The material itself is hardwearing with a superb resistance to wear and tear when stored in a tackle box. The inner lining helps protect the rigs and other items during storage.

The Velcro fastening on the Tronixpro rig winder case

The rig winder case is secured by a strip of Velcro which is firmly stitched in place rather than glued.

Multiple Uses for the Rig Winder Storage Case

The case holds up to 10 EVA rig winders up to 70cm in diameter including, obviously the TronixPro versions. The rig winder storage case is large enough to accommodate the winders with rigs assembled using floaty beads.

It addition to the rig winders the case can hold several pre-made sabiki style rigs in their original packaging or can be used to neatly store spools of line of the Amnesia size. The case can also store a couple of appropriately sized spare spools, principally the multiplier versions.

The only thing I would like to see would be different colours of cases to make the storage of particular rigs immediately obvious. However, each rig winder case has a clear, plastic label holder on the top which can be used to store rig information. As this area is partially open to the elements I use plastic tokens to accommodate the rig details in each case.

Availability

All in all, this inexpensive case is a valuable addition to the angler’s tackle box, helping keep the contents neat and tidy. With a recommended retail price of £3.99 the rig winder storage case is available online and from most tackle shops. There is also a version which comes complete with 10 rig winders with an RRP of £5.99.
