Weather Helps Lancashire Sea Fishing

by Jordan Russell

This week the fishing has been much better on the Lancashire coast with the colder weather and westerly winds. The conditions have thrown a few cod up that’s for sure.

Carl Lawton was out on his boat Mustang when he fished high water down to low off Rossall. He found masses of whiting, some of a good size, along with dabs, dogfish, skate, and the target fish cod. All caught using Bispham Angling fresh worm.

Thanks to David Jobling and Peter Marshall for the launch and retrieve.

Joe Green headed for a few hours on the Gynn Wall during the evening with Luke Clift and Eddy Greaves and the fish were feeding from the start. Whiting most of the time but Luke did have a bass and a dogfish to put a bend in his rod.

Joe finished with 15 fish while Luke had seven and Eddy six. All fell to frozen black lugworm and rag tipped with squid or bluey.
