Skegness Pier Angling Club – Trunch Lane, January 2013

Top local match angler Richard Leighton was easy winner of the latest Skegness Pier Angling Club (SPAC) match, held in ideal conditions at Trunch Lane. After a slow start to the match, he beached 10 dabs, a whiting and a flounder for a bag weight of 7lb 3oz. To make a good day complete, he also won both the heaviest round and flatfish prizes, with his 1lb 2oz whiting and 1lb 1oz flounder respectively. Some way behind in second place was another Skegness local, Dave Bradley, who weighed in 11 dabs for 5lb 3oz. Russ Lee travelled from Leicester to fish his first ever sea match and went home with a big smile on his face, after taking third place with 9 nice dabs weighing 4lb 8oz.

The SPAC AGM will be held on Saturday 23rd February commencing at 7:30pm in the New Park Club, Scarborough Avenue, Skegness. All current and prospective members are invited to attend. The annual Trophy Presentation and social event will take place immediately after the AGM, including a grand raffle and buffet.

The next SPAC match will be held on Saturday 9th Feb from 3 until 7pm at Bohemia Point, Sutton on Sea, with Club members fishing for the Healey Cup.
