Lancashire Sea Fishing Reporting Quiet

by Jordan Russell

lancashire-news-logoDespite anglers being out and about on the shore of the Lancashire coast few have submitted reports despite there being some good fish about.

Leyland and District Angling Club were out last Sunday at Otterspool.

  1. Peter Pilkington with a 49cm cod which was also the biggest fish and scoring 60 match points.
  2. Fred Howard with a 45cm cod and 2 whiting, 55 points.
  3. Jack Smith with 11 whiting, scoring 43 points.
  4. Mick Darlington with 2 flounders and 3 whiting, 32 points.
  5. Daisy Jordan with 5 whiting, 14 points.

Nice to see 2 new junior members in the top five this week, well done Jack and Daisy.

Thanks again to the 11 members who all caught and to Jordan Russell of Bispham Angling for the excellent bait.

Fleetwood and District Angling Club fished their latest match at Beach Road where they were aiming to catch the fish worth the most points. Given the conditions a good westerly breeze and over an hour in the dark it looked like a few cod should get caught.

You could approach the match in two ways, fish big for cod, or fish small and just go for a bag of whiting. As it was only two cod were caught. There was lots of whiting caught unfortunately not many big ones, 37cm being the best.
