Could we follow up last week’s excellent session with another blinder? 25 hopefuls met at the Walcott slip with a sharp spring in the step and with a keen sense of anticipation. Great to see another bunch of anglers out on a November night. Thanks all for supporting the club, its clearly gaining a reputation.
Early chat before the peg draw covered the lack of fish at the Team of Five finals on the North Norfolk beaches where nobody told the fish to arrive in numbers – well done Norfolk Angling (14th overall – well done all).
Thanks’ Neil/John for the excellent pegging – but with 25 to peg we took up the beach from the Walcott slipway (Peg 27) to Poachers Pocket (Peg 1). If anyone has any large old tent pegs – please pass to Neil.
With such good numbers please make sure you are on the WhatsApp group (send message to Simon and I will add) or on the Facebook Group – so we can know numbers in advance. Message from last week still stands i.e., must book “going” on Facebook (or WhatsApp) by Sunday pm – to secure a peg. This way we can peg beach, have enough cards etc. Your help and support are appreciated.
So, to the fishing, well, what a difference a day makes with 295 fish caught, and as expected 95% were Whiting with an overall average being 12 fish per angler.
- Whiting 280
- Dabs 13
- Dog Fish 2
- Total 295 – note fishing to size limits.
Chris Gates is developing a reputation for picking up big dabs so didn’t disappoint with a 26cm flatfish, picking up the biggest flat for second time this league. Biggest round fish was a 60cm dogfish caught by Julian Lovick – cracking fish for this time of year, and a fourth place.
All are on the leader boards for biggest round/flat. But spoils for the night went to our favourite YouTuber Pond Pete, with good podium positions from Mike Topping and Andrew Turk.
