A Simple LRF rig
The drop shot rig is a simple but effective rig for LRF, light rock fishing, which presents the lure or bait paternoster style.
Drop Shot Rig Components
1 x drop shot style hook, this can be a straight or offset hook
1 x swivel
1 x length of clear nylon or fluorocarbon
1 x lead weight
The Rig Body
1. Tie the hook onto the trace line using a Palomar knot leaving a long tag end on both sides. Pass the top tag end back through the eye of the hook, with the hook bend uppermost, to produce a stand-off effect.
2. Tie the swivel to the top of the trace.
3. Tie the weight to the bottom. Specialist drop shot leads are available which allow the distance between the hook and the weight to be adjusted.
