Norfolk Angling Club At Weybourne

by Dene Conway

Norfolk Angling Club logo13 anglers attended Monday night’s match at Weybourne, pegging was to the left of the pipe. It was a cold evening with a slight swell on a flooding tide and it was predicted that there would be good numbers of fish.

The anglers were not disappointed, with a total of 123 sizeable fish caught between them. As always with Kelling and Weybourne you are either on them or you are not and finding the bigger ones can always be a challenge.

Top rod and a welcome return to the podium for Andrew Turk on peg 4 with 13 fish for 5lb 5oz, closely followed by Nathan Drewery on peg 6 with 15 fish for 5lb 4oz. The final podium spot went to Ian Wells on peg 2 with 12 fish for 4lb 152/3oz. The biggest flatfish was Richard Hipperson’s nice 29cm dab, and biggest round fish was to Ian Wells’ 35cm whiting. The total weight caught between the competitors was 46lb 71/3oz, well done to everyone who braved the cold night.
