Lee And Archie Enjoy Their Day At Cleveleys

Some good fishing still along the Lancashire coast but mainly after dark. There are plenty of whiting, codling, bass, dogfish and rays showing.

Wyre Boat Angling Club member Jason Turner enjoyed a great day afloat when he smashed his personal best with a bass of 8½lb.

Fleetwood and District Angling club fished their latest last Sunday at Stanah.

The weather was terrible for the anglers as they were hit by heavy rain at the start which turned the banks into a mud bath.

lancashire latest news logoCraig Thompson started off well with a 34cm flounder first chuck, but that was it for the rest of the match for him. The rest of the competitors fared no better only four caught fish between them. The match was for the biggest single flounder. A total of five fish were caught.

1st Ken Forrest flounder 37cm

2nd Mike Owen flounder 35cm

3rd equal Ray Rodger and Craig Thompson flounder 34cm

No club match next weekend, instead it is the Rossall Tavern Heaviest Fish Open. Last chance to get your name down for this event.

Lee Baxter, from Blackpool, and his eight-year-old son Archie had great fun at Cleveleys. Where they landed two thornback ray, a tope pup and a whiting which put a big smile on Archie’s face.
